2011 - Time for Progress and a Time to Reflect

With a tough 2010 behind us and a New Year ahead what can we expect?

The expectations of business leaders will be high as news reaches us that the UK economy is growing. There will be fierce competition for any business to be had.

But we cannot sit back and wait for business to pick up, we must look within to improve procedures and gain the most from our employees.

The complex workings inside a business are like the workings of a clock mechanism. Each part of the time piece helps the next to do its job and in turn keeps things ticking over successfully. Within a business each employee relies on another to help them do their job.

If a piece of the mechanism, or an employee, is allowed to work differently than the rest the clock or business will stop working effectively.

For example, if one employee arrives for work 5 minutes late everyday and takes an extra five minutes for lunch and leaves 5 minutes early everyday they miss 15 minutes of work each day. This may impact on their colleagues in terms of workload but probably more importantly on their motivation if they feel their colleague is ‘getting away with it’.

15 minutes a day adds up to 1 hour 15 minutes a week and over 7 days over the course of a year. That equates to a whole week where you have no activity from your employee. If you then translate that into money you have paid that employee a week’s wages for doing nothing. Employees see more than we like to think they do!

A Time and Attendance System can help you to monitor and eliminate these sorts of issues within your business and means that your employees who turn up on time everyday are rewarded for being loyal. Troublesome employees are highlighted and can be dealt with using the reports generated by the Time and Attendance System that does not rely on time sheets and monitors attendance to the second.

It only takes 30 minutes to see our system working, but over time it will save you a fortune.
